The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)has stated that Qatar Charity will provide cash support to 7,750 internally displaced people in Libya who were affected by the floods that struck the east of the country last September.
The Commission stated on its official website that the support provided by the Qatari Foundation is estimated at $2.5 million to support the displaced in 3 countries, including Libya.
The Commission indicated that this contribution comes within the framework of the Memorandum of Intent regarding Islamic charitable cooperation that was signed last March between the Commission and Qatar Charity.
The UNHCR noted that this support will provide water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene supplies to the displaced, which will have a positive impact on the lives of thousands of refugees and internally displaced families who depend on humanitarian aid to alleviate their suffering and improve their living conditions.
