Dbeibah appoints Deputy Minister of Oil in place of Aoun after ACA suspension

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdulhamid Dbeibah, appointed the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdul Sadiq, to manage the ministry’s duties.

Abdul Sadiq’s appointment came after the decree of the head of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA), Abdullah Qaderbuh, to suspend Oil Minister Mohamed Aoun from work.

According to the decree issued on Monday, the suspension of Aoun from work was due to “reasons related to investigating legal violations.”

Following the decree to suspend him from work, Aoun had chaired a regular meeting of the Ministry of Oil and Gas on Tuesday with the directors of departments and offices, to discuss developments in the ministry’s administrative work.
