Exporting the first oil shipment from the Erawan field

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced the export of the first oil shipment through the port of Zawiya, containing 600,000 barrels from the Erawan oil field, located in the Murzuq Basin, northeast of the city of Al-Owainat.

Zallaf Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Company began pumping crude oil from the Erawan oil field at a rate of 3,000 barrels per day as part of an alternative plan for early production at the end of March 2023. The Erawan field has a daily production rate of more than 16 thousand barrels per day when working at full capacity.

Zallaf is reported to be one of the first companies in the Libyan oil sector to adopt a plan to transport crude oil via tankers from the production tanks in the Erawan field to the surface treatment unit in the Sharara field of the Akakus Oil Operations Company.
