51 inmates, mostly from Derna, released from Granada military prison

Sources have confirmed to Libya Alahrar TV that the process of releasing 51 prisoners from Granada military prison has started this afternoon, adding that most of the inmates are from Derna city.

The sources said Khalifa Haftar’s militias had informed the families of the inmates to go to the Granada prison management on Sunday to pick up their relatives who would be released among a group of 51 inmates.

They also indicated that another group of prisoners would be released from Granada on 27 Ramadan – on May 09 – and a group of 96 prisoners on third day of Eid Al-Fitr – on May 15.

The sources indicated that many prisoners had been placed in the to-be-released cells in Granada prison for years now, suffering from bad living conditions, and awful nutrition and healthcare.
