Libya and Qatar are to develop collaboration in aviation

The head of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority, Muhammad Shalibek, signed with the Acting President of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Muhammad Al-Hajri, an update on the air services agreement signed between the two countries on April 28, 2004, so that “its provisions will be more in line with developments in the field of civil aviation.”

The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding that allows the designated air carriers of both countries to operate an unlimited number of passenger and cargo flights per week and with any type of aircraft without restrictions.

Following the signing, Shalibek discussed with Qatari Minister of Transport Jassim Al-Sulaiti bilateral relations between the two countries in relevant fields.

According to the Qatari embassy, a technical team will arrive within the next two weeks, to assess the situation in preparation for opening a direct line between the two sides.
