Minister of Transport emphasizes delivering the Tripoli International Airport Hall according to the timetable

Minister of Transport Mohammed Al-Shahoubi discussed today with the Italian Ambassador to Libya Gianluca Alberni the implementation of the Tripoli International Airport Hall project and the obstacles facing its completion despite the provision of the necessary funding.

The Minister of Transport stressed to the Italian company implementing the project the need to adhere to a specific date for its delivery according to the contract concluded with it.

Al-Shahoubi also emphasized the importance of this project, which will serve the travel and movement of citizens and will support air transport between Libya and other countries, noting that there is no justification for the delay in its implementation.

The meeting also discussed the coastal Amsaid – Ras Ajdir highway project, and its negotiation stages, where it was agreed to closely follow up the process of completing the implementation requirements.

It is noteworthy that the Libyan-Italian Joint Committee agreed last January with the Italian side in Rome to allocate 571 million euros this year to complete the contracting procedures for the implementation of the first sector of the coastal highway project “Amsaid-Marj” as well it’s the fourth sector “Misurata-Ras Ajdir”.
