One woman has been killed and three civilians have been wounded in new rocket attacks by Khalifa Haftar’s militias on Hadba Batata area.
The rocket attacks by Haftar’s militias also injured another woman in Abu Salim in Tripoli in what seems a new wave of attacks waged by Haftar’s militias in the wake of the Security Council resolution that called for ceasefire.
The UN Security Council has adopted a UK-drafted resolution that supports the conclusions of the Berlin conference that called for a permanent ceasefire in Libya.
The UN Security Council’s resolution on Wednesday was yes-voted by 14 countries as Russia abstained. The resolution stresses that Libya’s conflict parties should commit to the ceasefire and the UN arms embargo.
The media adviser of the Libyan Health Ministry of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Ameen Al-Hashimi told Libya Alahrar on Thursday that the woman was killed due to a random shell that fell in the Hadba Batata neighborhood.
Al-Hashimi also confirmed that another woman was injured in Abu Salim due to a separate shelling by Haftar’s militias.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Transportation Hisham Abu Shikawat told Libya Alahrar on Thursday afternoon that Mitiga Airport had suspended air traffic and flights due to a rocket attack by Haftar’s militias.
