Al-Backosh announces buying 12 million covid vaccines

The chief of the Scientific Advisory Committee for Combating Coronavirus, Khalifa Al-Backosh, announced signing a deal for buying 12 million vaccine doses, adding that the first shipment will arrive in Libya by the end of March.

In a press conference in Tripoli, he added that the vaccines will be shipped in patches and that deals were sealed with four companies to import the vaccines.

Al- Backosh assured the Libyans that vaccines would arrive soon, adding that delays are due to the European Union’s closure.

The National Center for Disease Control will carry out vaccinations in cooperation with the scientific advisory committee and the ministry of health. Registrations will open in March, he added.
