The Head of the Libyan High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri said international initiatives and conferences cannot find a solution to the Libyan conflict anymore and cannot add anything new to the already approved ones, referring to Libyan Political Agreement signed in Skhirat, Morocco on December 17 2015.
In a meeting with the Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita in Rabat, Al-Mishri said there are no assurances for implementing any new initiatives whether Berlin or Geneva conclusions, saying individual efforts by some countries or international efforts don’t help Libya resolve the crisis, but complicate the conflict even more.
Meanwhile, Bourita said Morocco doesn’t have any agenda to be executed in Libya or any initiatives, yet Rabat believes, he said, that Libyans should activate the role of institutions that were approved by Skhirat agreement as a way to find a solution that starts with a transitional phase which takes Libya to elections, thus putting an end to the strife for legitimacy.
