The Second Deputy President of the High Council of State (HCS), Omar Al-Obaidi, said that the decision to unify the sovereign positions by the House of Representatives (HoR) and the HCS has become an inevitable necessity that cannot be postponed.
Al-Obaidi considered in a statement to Libya Al-Ahrar that the failure to decide on the sovereign positions by the regulatory bodies, is tantamount to the continuation and strengthening of chaos, the plundering of public funds, and a waste of the state’s capabilities and resources.
Al-Obeidi confirmed that the HCS Presidency referred the list of candidates to the HoR according to the mechanism agreed upon between the presidency of the two chambers to reach this milestone as soon as possible.
Earlier this week, the Presidency of the HCS directed its Sovereign Positions Committee to submit the final report, and to continue communicating with the HoR until this unification process is accomplished.
