Al-Sarraj: Success of ceasefire in Libya tied to pullout of Haftar’s aggression forces

The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj has said that the success of the ceasefire that has been proposed by Turkey and Russia is tied to the withdrawal of Khalifa Haftar’s aggression forces.

The media office of Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA) said its delegation called for clear mechanisms at Berlin conference for monitoring the ceasefire in Libya.

Libya’s GNA also urged for reopening oil exports’ valves and for establishing a fund for compensating the war-damaged people.

“If an agreement is reached on a new accord government in the future, it shouldn’t be endorsed by Tobruk’s House of Representatives.” The GNA added.

These statements coincide with the kicking off of Berlin conference on Libya with the participation of several stakeholders in the Libyan conflict.
