Algerian FM, UN envoy discuss supporting resolving Libya’s crisis

The Algerian Foreign Minister, Sabri Boukadoum, discussed Sunday with the new UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, ways to support the efforts aimed at reaching a political solution in Libya.

Boukadoum said on Twitter that he had reviewed with Kubis on the phone efforts to push forward the political track to attain an end to the Libyan crisis.

The Algerian Foreign Minister indicated that the phone conversation also focused on the role of his country in supporting the efforts for political settlement in Libya in a way that keeps afar foreign intervention and preserves Libya’s sovereignty and unity.

Boukadoum visited Tripoli on January 27 and met with the outgoing Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj. They discussed, at the time, the latest developments regarding the political solution in the country.
