The continued disappearance of military prosecutor Farouk Bin Saeed has drawn the attention of international human rights watchdog Amnesty International.
The organization has called for urgent action regarding the situation of Farouk Bin Saeed who has been detained for over two weeks. Bin Saeed who is a senior official in the Military Persecution Office has not been reachable since the end of last month according to his family’s complaint.
Amnesty International expressed its concern that he was targeted for politically motivated reasons, and had previously claimed that Bin Saeed was imprisoned by the security force known as the Deterrence Agency for Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime.
It also confirmed that his family had submitted complaints to the police and the Attorney General’s Office and that it had not received any information about his fate or whereabouts. According to the organization’s appeal, Bin Saeed has been in forced custody at least since June 26th.
