Benghazi Antiquities Watch angered by demolishing works in “Euesperides”

Benghazi Antiquities Watch described Sunday the demolishing operations in the archaeological site of Euesperides in Benghazi as “reckless” and renewed its call for halting those works in the site, warning of their dangerous effects on national security.

The Benghazi Antiquities Watch member, Nasser Al-Harari, appealed to the so-called “General Command” in eastern Libya to intervene to stop what he called “the outright assault on the archaeological Hesperides in Benghazi”.

Al-Harari also described what is happening in the ancient city as a crime against cultural heritage, and encroaching on the property of Libyans, calling on all civil, security and military authorities inside Benghazi to stop it.
