Calm prevails in Abu Grein after sporadic clashes, military commander says

The senior commander at the Sirte-Jufra Operations Room Ahmed Al-Ayish has confirmed that Abu Grein is seeing clam after clashes have been halted at dawn.

Al-Ayish tol Libya Alahrar TV on Saturday that their forces had targeted Khalifa Haftar’s militias with heavy artillery shells as they attempted to advance on Burkan Al-Ghadab positions.

“Our forces had reinforced their positions as military backup by the Government of National Accord arrived from Misrata and Tripoli.” He added.

Meanwhile, Al-Ayish added that their forces had depicted aircraft backing up Haftar’s forces over Abu Grein, but there had been no airstrikes in the area.
