The commander of Al-Guwaya frontline Mohammed Al-Ayeb has confirmed that the area is seeing an uneasy calm after heavy clashes with Khalifa Haftar’s militias Saturday night.
Al-Ayeb told Libya Alahrar TV on Sunday that Haftar’s militias were still violating the ceasefire as they tried to advance on Al-Gawaya, but were repelled by the frontline GNA-commanded forces.
He also indicated that Haftar’s militias lost a lot of their fighters and vehicles in the clashes, saying they are always ready to thwart any attacks.
