The Ambulance and Emergency Apparatus said on Monday that two people died after an indiscriminate shell hit their house in Al-Zawiya – west Libya -, as a result of armed clashes in the city.
The Red Crescent’s office in Al-Zawiya also reported that it was able to help evacuate a number of stranded families in the city and that its medical teams had been deployed near the area of the clashes.
Al-Zawiya Red Crescent’s office and the Ambulance and Emergency Apparatus appealed to the warring parties in Al-Zawiya to exercise restraint, to resort to dialogue, and to stop the clashes until all families trapped in their homes had been evacuated.
Armed clashes – described as violent – erupted between armed groups in Al-Zawiya at dawn on Monday after the killing of a member of the “Stability Support Force” in the city.
