The Prime Minister-elect of the new Libyan executive authority, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, has hailed bilateral relations with Turkey, saying his soon-to-be Government of National Unity (GNU) would boost economic partnership with Ankara.
In a press conference on Thursday in Tripoli, where he announced to reporters that he had submitted the final GNU cabinet formation to the Presidency of the House of Representatives, Dbeibah said Libya-Turkey relations will continue as long as they are based on mutual respect for sovereignty.
Dbeibah added that Turkey is a very significant economic ally to Libya, adding that his GNU will keep the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Maritime Cooperation with Ankara intact as it is important for Libyan and Turkish people.
