The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdulhamid Dbeibah, directed the Ministry of Education to give permission to the local education administrative units in the Amazigh-speaking municipalities to propose naming their schools in accordance to their cultural heritage.
In his letter to Minister Musa Al-Magarif, Dbeibah recommended issuing decrees on the matter allowing municipalities to begin naming schools.
Dbeibah also issued instructions in a letter to the Acting Minister of Interior, to permit the Civil Status Authority to allow the registration of Amazigh names.
In his speech during the ceremony to celebrate the Amazigh New Year in Tripoli, Dbeibah reiterated that the public authorities would allow the use of Amazigh names for individuals and schools.
