Khalifa Haftar and the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) in Tobruk Aqila Saleh arrived Friday in Cairo to discuss the latest military developments in the country, amid heavy defeats they had suffered in losing all their positions in western Libya including southern Tripoli and Tarhouna.
Sources from Egypt said that Cairo had summoned warlord Haftar and Aqila Saleh for discussions under the auspices of Egyptian Intelligence.
The Libyan Army forces under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) seized full control of Tarhouna city from local militias of Al-Kani and Khalifa Haftar’s terrorist militias after advancing on the city from four frontlines.
This historical liberation of the city from both Haftar and Al-Kani militias comes less than 24 hours after the liberation of the entire Greater Tripoli region following a bloody war that has been ongoing for 14 months.
