Deterrence Apparatus detains former LPTIC Head

The Deterrence Apparatus for fighting terrorism and organized crime, based in Tripoli, has arrested the former Head of the Libyan Post Telecommunications and Information Technology Company (LPTIC) Faisal Gergab.

The apparatus said the arrest of Gergab was because he had stormed the office of the current Head of LPTIC at Al-Zawiya Street in Tripoli, breaking doors of the office and assaulting the employees.

It also indicated that Gergab and, a person named Mohammed Hijazi, along with a group of gunmen, stormed the office with the claim that they were executing a ruling in favor of Gergab, adding that the ruling hadn’t been finalized yet by the judiciary.

The Apparatus also said the armed group was arrested as well and they would all be referred to relevant authorities for legal measures.
