EgyptAir adds Libya’s Misrata airport as new destination from Cairo

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the EgyptAir Holding Company, Yehya Zakariya, has confirmed the operation of new direct flights from Cairo to Misrata in Libya, starting January 25.

Zakariya said on the company’s Facebook page on Sunday that the new route was scheduled with one flight per week every Thursday.

He explained that the addition of the new flights came due to the increase in traffic between Libya and Egypt, especially with the presence of Egyptians residing and working in Libya, and with the aim of enhancing trade and economic exchange between Egypt and Libya.

The new flight a week to Misrata gives EgyptAir’s a new destination to Libya, as this is the third city destination in Libya after Benghazi and Tripoli.

“To encourage travelers, EgyptAir offers a discount on the first four flights of Misrata destination, with the first flight at a 50% discount and the other three at a 25% discount if tickets are purchased until January 20.” Zakariya said.

EgyptAir indicated that after adding Misrata to the EgyptAir destinations, the company will operate 15 flights a week to Libya: seven flights to Benghazi, seven to Tripoli, and one to Misrata.
