The head of the new Presidential Council (PC), Mohammad Al-Menfi, received a phone call, on Wednesday, from the Egyptian president, Abdel Fatah El-Sisi, congratulating him for assuming the presidency the PC.
Al-Menfi media office said, in a statement, that the Al-Menfi and El-Sisi exchanged views about bilateral relations and the issues of mutual concern.
El-Sisi affirmed his full support to Libya “until they achieve security and stability.”
From his side, Al-Menfi stressed the significance of bilateral ties between the two countries, valuing Cairo’s leading role in solving the Libyan crisis.
On another side, the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence, General Abbas Kamel, met with the foreign minister of the head of the Libyan envoy to the extraordinary session of foreign ministries of the Arab League in Cairo.
Kamel reiterated Cairo’s full support to Libya’s new executive body, wishing it all luck to achieve the current stage and the electoral requirements entitlement scheduled in late December.
Foreign ministry media office said the session explored means to ensure the success of the political process, and support outcomes of the political forum in Geneva resulted in selecting the new Libyan authority.
In the same context, the new Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, had received a phone call from El-Sisi.
In a tweet, he expressed his joy with his call with the Egyptian leader who said his country’s full support to the new government, and the readiness to cooperate to ensure both countries stability.
He further said he is looking forward to strong strategic relations with all Libya’s neighbours.
