Foreign Minister asks El-Sisi to support Libya’s vision at Berlin II Conference

The Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush, has asked the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for Cairo’s support to Libya’s vision at the upcoming Berlin II Conference.

Al-Mangoush said in a meeting with El-Sisi in Cairo on Sunday that Libya relies on joint security cooperation with Egypt, asking for an active Egyptian role in unifying Libya’s army.

She also indicated that Libya and Egypt have a chance to boost cooperation and establish stability, urging Cairo to increase diplomatic representation in Libya.

In the meantime, El-Sisi reiterated support for the political process and holding elections without any foreign intervention and “mercenaries and militias”, adding that Libya and Egypt’s relations are a matter of national security and urging Al-Mangoush to continue her “nationalistic approach with a total support form Egypt.”
