Former Libyan ambassadors and diplomats in Ukraine handed 8-year prison sentences

The Tripoli Criminal Court has sentenced eight former officials of the Libyan diplomatic mission to the Republic of Ukraine: three former ambassadors, three health officials, and two former cultural attachés, to eight years in prison.

‎The Office of Libya’s Attorney General Public said administrative control and oversight reports recorded violations in the performance of diplomatic mission officials in Ukraine during the period from 2015 to 2019. 

It added that the penalty included imprisonment for eight years, a fine of 13.000 dinars, and depriving the eight convicted individuals of their civil rights during imprisonment and one year after release.
