From Tripoli, Libya’s eastern elders urge Dbeibah to visit Benghazi ASAP

Libya’s east region’s elders arrived in Tripoli, western Libya, on Wednesday and attended an Iftar feast with the Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, as well as a number of Government of National Unity’s officials.

The eastern elders called on the Libyan Prime Minister to visit Benghazi and the rest of the eastern region as soon as possible.

The delegation from the east included elders and dignitaries of tribes as well as a number of mayors, who discussed with Dbeibah the necessary needs of the municipalities and the ways to solve the problems they had been facing.

Late last month, Khalifa Haftar’s militias prevented the Government of National Unity’s delegation of ministers from entering Benghazi for convening the third meeting, as they encircled Benina Airport and asked the plane carrying an advance government security delegation to fly back to Tripoli.
