Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, 49, has submitted the required documents for candidacy to presidential elections in Libya, slated for December 24, the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) has confirmed.
The HNEC said candidate Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi submitted Sunday all the necessary papers for his head-of-state candidacy, adding that his submission was made in Sabha as he was registered there and got his electoral card from the same HNEC center.
Saif appeared in a video at the moment of signing his presidential bid in Sabha. the footage was the first for him since his videoconference appearance at the court from Zintan in 2014.
