Giving in to international pressure, Haftar orders reopening of Libya’s oil ports

The Chairman of the oil facilities department loyal to Khalifa Haftar has announced reopening oil fields and ports upon Haftar’s orders after over seven months of closure by tribal leaders loyal to the warlord.

In a video statement, Naji Al-Maghrabi, said the end of oil blockade came due to the repeated power outages in eastern Libya and in order to end the suffering of the people and preserve the infrastructure of oil facilities as well as provide the needed amounts of cooking gas to the people.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Electricity authority in the parallel government in eastern Libya stirred dismay when he said lately that he didn’t care about the National Oil Corporation’s warnings of devastating results of the oil blockade on electricity.
