The commander of Ain Zara frontline under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Yousef Al-Ameen said Saturday that an uneasy calm had descended on the frontline and the areas in its vicinity.
Al-Ameen added, speaking to Libya Alahrar TV, that the GNA forces on Ain Zara frontline remained in their positions and would be ready to repel any attempt to advance by Khalifa Haftar’s militias.
He also indicated that modern weapons had arrived to the GNA forces, thus allowing them to carry out precise counter-attacks on Haftar’s militias.
“Haftar’s militias are using long-range artillery to shell civilian neighborhoods behind frontlines in a continuous violation of the ceasefire announced on January 12 2022.” Al-Ameen remarked.
