GNU holds a meeting to follow up on prices of main subsidies and goods

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU) Abdulhamid Dbeibah held a meeting with the Ministry of Economy, the Economic Security Committee and the Municipal Guard, where he directed the need to follow up on government-subsidized goods, to stabilize the market and assure that they are being sold according to the approved prices.

The Prime Minister stressed that the results of the committee’s work have begun to contribute to the provision of goods and the stability of prices. For his part, the Minister of Economy Muhammad Al-Hawaij confirmed the availability of basic goods in all regions.

Al-Hawaij pointed out that there are 45 basic commodities at discounted and appropriate prices, and confirmed that work is continuing to follow up on the supplying companies and local factories through the Economic Security Committee, to ascertain the quantities manufactured and supplied, the distribution mechanism, supply prices and available profit margin.

The Minister explained that coordination with the Municipal Guard and various law enforcement agencies is continuing to eliminate price speculation.
