Libya’s western and southern regions went Friday morning into a total blackout after gunmen closed gas valves in Sidi Al-Sayeh area.
The General Electricity Company of Libya regained power in 5 units; two in Al-Zawiya power plant and three in Al-Ruwais power plant after the general power network had lost 1000 megawatts.
The Head of GECOL’s Media office Mohammed Al-Takouri said some areas had lost total electricity services as the company will switch on power in some areas for three hours a day only due to the damage caused by closing the valves.
