Haftar forces carry out airstrikes on Al-Zawiya, kill 3 civilians and injure 10 others

The mayor of Al-Zawiya city Jamal Bahir has confirmed that three people have been killed and ten others injured in airstrikes by Khalifa Haftar’s forces on the city.

The mayor told Libya Al-Ahrar TV Thursday that the ten injured civilians have serious and mild injuries and that the airstrikes hit the eastern entrance of the city, where the shops are bustling.

“Haftar’s warplanes carried a second airstrike on Busra area to the south of the coastal road, causing no casualties”. The mayor added.

On Tuesday, four civilians were killed and 15 others were wounded in an airstrike by Haftar’s warplanes on Baer Al-Usta Milad in Tajoura; eastern Tripoli, the spokesman for the Health Minister Fawzi Awnis confirmed to Libya Al-Ahrar TV.

Over the last days, civilians and fighters have been killed by drone strikes by Haftar’s forces’ UAE backers, according to the state official statements and Burkan Al-Ghadab Operation’s media office. The drone strikes targeted Misrata, Msallata, Zliten, Sirte, Tajoura on Wednesday and Al-Zawiya on Thursday.
