Libya Alahrar TV obtained documents that had unveiled correspondence showing that Khalifa Haftar and his militias took about 500 million dinars of tax returns in east Libya in 2021.
The documents, obtained by Libya Alahrar were headed to the Attorney General and Audit Bureau after being sent by the Taxes Authority, calling for taking legal action to return the money to the state’s treasury.
The correspondence also says that the orders for taking the money came from military authorities in eastern Libya and that the money was transferred to their private accounts.
