A local source, who asked to remain anonymous, from Qatrun, has confirmed that Khalifa Haftar’s forces have begun combing the eastern neighborhood of the town under the pretext of searching for wanted persons, according to what pro-Haftar military leaders told the townsmen.
The director of media of the so-called General Command, Khalid Al-Mahjoub, cited the commander of southern operations, Mabrouk Sahban, as saying that their forces had carried out a military operation in Qatrun and its suburbs in order to arrest whom he described as ISIS militants, under a cover of drones.
On the other hand, the so-called “Tubu Sultan” Zalawi Mina expressed rejection of any military movements by Haftar’s forces, saying that they do not want any force from outside the southern region to operate without coordination with the military governor of the Murzuq Basin.
