The spokesman for the Libyan Army under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) accused Wednesday Khalifa Haftar’s militias of violating Libya’s ceasefire for the second time in three days.
Mohammed Gununu said GNA forces positioned around Sirte registered a violation of the ceasefire declaration on Tuesday and it was the second of its kind in less than 72 hours.
The spokesman for the Libyan Army said the militia fired six Grad rockets at the positions of the Libyan Army west of Sirte.
Gununu also explained that the Libyan Army was ready and awaiting instructions from the supreme commander to deal with and respond to the source of fire at the appropriate place and time.
The Libyan Army announced the first breach of the ceasefire by Haftar’s militia on August 27, as Haftar’s militias fired more than a dozen Grad rockets at the army positions west of Sirte.
