The High Council of State (HCS) stressed the need to keep the National Oil Company away from any political tensions or disputes.
During its session on Tuesday, the HCS urged the need to combat corruption and support efforts to counter smuggling.
The HCS emphasized the necessity of providing fuel according to the approved state budget or the financial arrangements approved by the designated committee and stopping the operations of exchanging crude oil for fuel due to the waste of public resources caused as a result of the absence of oversight and transparency related to this method of dealings.
The Council urged the development of oil fields by obliging state financial institutions to provide funds and enter into partnerships with oil companies affiliated with the National Oil Company to avoid any contracts that might contribute to neglection.
