Head of Libya’s Presidential Council to visit Nigeria

The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, is going to visit Nigeria on Monday upon an invitation by the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, the spokesperson said.

The Presidential Council’s spokesperson added that Menfi would take part in summit tackling the situation in Chad and the serious security challenges to neighboring countries, including Libya and Nigeria.

Chad has been seeing unrest over the last couple of months. The unrest saw the Chadian President, Idriss Deby, killed by rebel fighters, who infiltrated Libya’s southern borders and fought alongside Khalifa Haftar’s militias, and then led attracts on Chadian army from the Libyan border.
