The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, has commended the Egyptian-Turkish rapprochement and said that it contributes to resolving the Libyan crisis as well as facilitates the withdrawal of foreign forces from Libya.

‎Saleh indicated in a statement to Russian news agency “Sputnik” that Cairo-Ankara rapprochement would help prevent a new war in Libya, and facilitate bringing together the visions among the c ok parties to the crisis in Libya with the aim of reaching a solution.

‎The HoR Speaker also reiterated the need for all foreign forces to leave, indicating that the HoR “does not accept foreign forces in Libya.” He has also said that “there are some Turkish groups that have been previously authorized by Al-Sarraj government of national accord”.

He stressed the need for “an internationally recognized government to reconsider such illegal agreements that are not approved by the legislative authority”.

‎This new statement by Saleh comes at a time when Egyptian-Turkish relations are witnessing a remarkable improvement, especially after El Sisi’s recent visit to Ankara and the signing of a number of cooperation agreements between the two countries.
