Human Rights Solidarity: 1155 victims of violence in Libya in 2019

Libya’s Human Rights Solidarity (HRS) said the number of casualties of violence in Libya had reached 1155 people – 79% of whom were civilians.

The HRS added in a reports issued Friday that the victims of abduction and assassination in the second half of 2019 reached 72% with Benghazi topping the list of cities where such crimes happened.

The human rights body added that incidents of kidnapping women increased in 2019, adding that the member of the House of Representatives in Tobruk Siham Sergiwa, who was abducted from her house in Benghazi, was one of them.

It also added that the list of victims of forces disappearance has also gotten longer in 2019 in comparison with the previous years.
