Itamilradar website, which is specialized in monitoring military aircraft, said it depicted Saturday a US Air Force Boeing C-17A “Globemaster” that left Ramstein Airbase im Germany and followed one of the usual routes followed by previous flights to Libya.
“The aircraft, as seen in similar past flights didn’t enter into Italian FIR. The aircraft disappeared from all tracking site around 19:06 CET over central Mediterranean sea.” Itamilradar said.
It added that the US Globemaster reappeared later off Libya in flight westbound and finally landed in Ramstein Airbase, adding that the nature of the flight remains unknown.
