Kalin, Presidential Council discuss “consensual solutions” via Libyan dialogue

The Chief of Turkish Intelligence, Ibrahim Kalin, met on Thursday with the two deputy heads of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi and Mossa Al-Koni.

The meeting focused on the need to reach consensual solutions among the Libyan parties through a comprehensive national dialogue, in a way that would ensure the preservation of the country’s unity and stability.

Al-Koni and Al-Lafi stressed the importance of resorting to the pure national will in facing the current challenges, stressing that the current stage in Libya would require the solidarity of all Libyans to reach a comprehensive political settlement.

They also stressed the importance of the international community’s support, including Turkey, for the dialogue process that could enhance the chances of reaching a political solution to end the crisis and achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people to build a democratic and stable state.

Kalin has also met with the Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah. These meetings come at a time when tensions are escalating over the Presidential Council’s decisions regarding changing the governor and board of directors of the Central Bank of Libya.
