Libya and Algeria sign a protocol to open the Al-Dabdab-Ghadames border crossing

The Ministry of Transportation of the Government of National Unity (GNU) announced the operational readiness of the Al-Dabdab-Ghadames border crossing with Algeria.

The Ministry stated that a delegation from the management and operation of land ports signed a protocol with the Algerian side to reopen the crossing in the coming days. The Ministry explained that the protocol stipulates the organization of transport between the two sides, and that within a few days the opening ceremony of the crossing will take place.

The Al-Dibdab-Ghadames border crossing is one of three border crossings that have been closed since 2014 after the deterioration of the security situation in Libya. It was opened at the beginning of 2020 but was closed again due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
