Libya: Bashagha accuses “The Times” of publishing fake news

The Libyan Prime Minister-designate Fathi Bashagha said he was surprised by an article attributed to his name and published by the British newspaper “The Times“.

“I hope this respected newspaper investigates accuracy to avoid being involved in publishing false articles.” Bashagha, who was appointed to replace current PM Dbeibah by the house of Representatives, said on Twitter on Wednesday.

The claim by Bashagha came one day late as the article was published on Tuesday. The article says it has been written by Bashagha himself and tackled the topic of his and his government’s support for the UK against Russia.

No comment has been made yet by The Times regarding the accusations of Bashagha.
