Libya witnessed a shift in the ranking of countries affected by terrorism, as it moved to less dangerous ranks for the first time in years, according to the report of the International Institute for Economics and Peace for the year 2024.
The report indicated that Libya had moved from one of the top countries affected by terrorism to become at a level of “low influence” after it had been for years at a level of “very high influence.”
In 2023, Libya was ranked 7th in the Arab world and 39th globally, with a rate of vulnerability to terrorism of 2.469, and in 2022 it was ranked 5th in the Arab world and 32nd globally, with a rate of vulnerability to terrorism of 4.730.
According to the International Institute, Libya has been less affected by terrorism than countries such as the United States, Germany and France.
For his part, Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah, praised this transformation, considering it an indication of the restoration of security and reassurance throughout the country. He stated that the government is working on more than one path to stabilize Libya despite the current challenges
The Prime Minister added that he looks forward to achieving the ideal image of the state that Libyans desire, by accelerating development and restoring life in all aspects.
