Libya, Moscow agree on deal to release two Russians detained in Tripoli since 2019

The Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) is going to release the Two Russian nationals detained in Tripoli since May 2019 over their efforts to influence upcoming Libyan elections, well-informed sources have told Libya Alahrar TV.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported four officials who asked to remain unnamed as saying that the GNA reached a deal with Moscow last week to release the two Russian nationals and put them on a plane to Russia.

Earlier, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said Moscow had received confirmations in writing from the GNA that the two Russians would be released soon.
