The Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs Adel Jumua discussed with the European Union’s (EU) Ambassador Nicola Orlando lifting the air embargo imposed on Libya and enhancing support for the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority.
According to the Government of National Unity, the two sides agreed to form a joint committee between the EU mission and the Civil Aviation Authority concerned with following up on the observations of the European Union Transport Commission and working to implement them according to an approved schedule.
The meeting also reviewed cooperation between Libya and the EU in combating illegal immigration and updating the joint agreement signed in 2010 by preparing a working document that would include proposed areas for future cooperation.
