Libya has recorded the biggest monthly increase in oil production in Africa, surpassing Nigeria, the continent’s largest producer.
Libya’s production increased on a monthly basis to 1,167 million barrels of oil per day (bpd) in February, compared to 1,023 million bpd last January, a daily increase of 144.000 bpd, according to an OPEC’s report.
Nigeria’s production in February reached 1.476 million bpd, compared to 1.429 million bpd in January, a daily increase of only 47.000 barrels.
OPEC’s total production in February reached 26.571.000 bpd, an increase of 203.000 barrels compared to January, when production recorded 26.368.000 bpd.
