Libya, Turkey’s Defense Ministers review military training, expertise exchange

The Libyan Defense Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Salah Al-Namroush met with the Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and discussed joint cooperation in defense, training fields as well as exchange of expertise and information.

The Libyan Defense Minister reviewed with Akar the training programs of the Libyan Defense Ministry personnel with the assistance of the Turkish side.

Meanwhile, Akar said Turkey was following closely the Libyan political dialogue for a solution in the country, adding that Ankara aims for prevailing security and peace as well as unity and sovereignty in Libya.

Turkey’s Defense Minister also said that the Turkish Army is still providing training programs, support, and consultations for the Libyan UN-recognized GNA.
