Libyan Defense Minister meets Turkish counterpart in Istanbul

The Libyan Defense Minister of the Government of National Accord, Salah Al-Namroush, met Sunday morning the Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar in Istanbul.

A statement by the Libyan Defense Ministry said the visit of Al-Namroush to Turkey “aims to consolidate efforts for more cooperation between Libya and Turkey”.

The statement cited the Turkish Defense Minister as saying that Ankara continues to support peace and stability in Libya as well as the legitimate, internationally-recognized Government of National Accord.

Akar, according to the Libyan Defense Ministry’s statement, said Turkey backs up all political solutions for the Libyan crisis, reiterating Ankara’s support for the UN efforts to prevail peace in Libya.
