Libyan FM: HoR hasn’t enact necessary legislation to fight economic corruption

Libya’s Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush, attended on Saturday the 20th edition of Economic Forum in Doha, Qatar and said the House of Representatives (HoR) in Libya hadn’t done good enough regarding new laws and legislation to face black market and economic corruption challenges.

The Doha-hosted forum’s slogan this year was “Switching to a New Era”, with a focus on geopolitical alliances, financial systems, economic development in defense, cyber security and food security, and climate change, in addition to other issues.

Al-Mangoush was a keynote speaker of a seminar called “War Economies” and was scheduled to meet a number of officials on the sidelines.

She also urged the Libyan Central Bank and HoR to act with more responsibility amid this tough period in Libya, reiterating that some parties in Libya are trying to hang on to power to their own benefit, and urging for a collective thinking of political and economic changes and a transitional strategy for all state institutions.
